The National Theatre is looking for a Designer to join our talented Graphic Design Team.
The Graphic Design Studio exists to serve the whole of the National Theatre, making creative work for the promotion of the NT’s artistic programme as well as the operational, commercial, educational and fundraising parts of the organisation.
Our purpose is to design and deliver creative work that’s original, engaging, contemporary and well-crafted - always aiming to evoke the tone and quality of the NT organisation and artistic programme.
The scope of GDS work is broad. It produces printed and digital materials in both still and moving image formats. The Graphic Design Studio often has the feel of an in-house agency as it works on so many projects with so many departments across the whole organisation.
The studio structure and culture enables a thriving, collaborative environment that supports creativity at all levels. The busy workload and varied scope of work also make it a fast-paced and energising place to be - we aim to be one of the nation’s leading in-house creative teams for the cultural sector.
Working under the direction of the Graphic Design Studio’s senior team, the purpose of the role is to create materials for a wide range of NT projects, spanning show and non-show work, across print and digital.
The Designer role exists to originate creative work in addition to supporting the senior team with roll-out work which can be anything from designing flyers to helping out with programme design and art-working.
The position will suit a current junior designer looking for an opportunity to ‘step up’ or a current middleweight designer looking to expand their creative opportunities.
This role is a great opportunity to be a part of an in-house studio design team, serving one of the world’s leading arts organisations.
