We are looking for an Engagement Producer to join Public Acts, the NT's nationwide initiative to create extraordinary acts of theatre and community.
Launched in September 2017, Public Acts builds partnerships with communities and theatres across the UK, through which we create ambitious new works of participatory theatre.
We are coming to the end of our first cycle of partnerships with eight Greater London-based community organisations and the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. The first Public Acts production, Pericles, was staged at the National Theatre in August 2018, the second production, As You Like It, will take place at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch this summer and our third production, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, will take place at CAST, Doncaster, in Summer 2020. We are currently in the planning phase for the next cycle of productions beyond 2020.
Public Acts is rooted in the concept of partnership in learning from one another, as individuals and organisations. Our partnerships with theatres and community organisations across the country lie at the heart of the programme.
The Engagement Producer plays a key role, leading on the development, management and delivery of partnerships with community organisations and supporting partner theatres to develop community partnerships.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Public Acts Director and Senior Producer to help shape the long-term strategic and creative vision for the programme in collaboration with theatres across the UK.
We’re looking for people with experience of developing and delivering multiple, ambitious projects and partnerships with a wide range of community organisations. If you also have a sense of the radical joy and excitement that comes from the combination of theatre and community, please get in touch! We would love to hear from you.
