We are looking for a HGV Driver (Technical Stores) to join the National Theatre Stages Team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

 

The purpose of the role

Based within Stage Resources, this role will work to ensure that the day-to-day operation of the NT HGV and NT Green Store run safely and efficiently.

 

This will involve driving the NT HGV, ensuring that the goods are unloaded safely and responsibly, and assisting with the upkeep of the NT Green Store.  You will work closely with the theatres teams and other departments that operate out of the Green Store to make the best use commercial use of the vehicle whilst supporting the operational requirements of the NT.

 

This role will be based across our new  15,000 sq. ft (approx) warehouse in Bermondsey and our main building ensuring safety and efficiency at all times, with a commitment to the efficient use of all its resources in the creation of a more circular economy as part of the NT’s decarbonisation strategy.

 

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • Experience in the operation and maintenance HGV (electric a plus).
  • Experience in traffic management and the supervision of the loading and unloading of commercial vehicles.
  • An awareness of relevant health and safety legislation including the HSWA and Manual Handling Regulations.
  • Training and experience in the use of forklift trucks.
  • Experience in the use of asset management software
