We are looking for a Costume hire Assistant to join the National Theatre Hire and Transport Team on a Part Time Permanent Contract.

 

Purpose of the role:

To provide a professional service for internal and external customers, following set procedures for booking out costumes, producing quotes, raising invoices and processing payments. The role requires multi-tasking and working quickly and diligently across many different tasks. A strong customer focus and excellent costume knowledge is essential. The post holder will play an active role in the preparation for, and subsequently the actual departmental move.

 

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • A proven wide and thorough knowledge of costume history and costume terminology, with demonstrable evidence of having extensively used this in a professional capacity.
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrated through professional experience in a range of settings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the experience and confidence to deal face to face with a wide variety of colleagues and customers in a professional setting.
  • Experience of a full range of administrative skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, database, and social media.
  • Confident sewing skills and basic costume construction/maintenance skills.
