We are looking for a Costume Supervisor to join our Costume Department
The Costume Production Department at the National Theatre comprises of the Costume Workroom, Textile Studio, Costume Props, Costume Supervising and Costume/Stock Buying. Our work is intrinsically linked to thatof the Running Wardrobe Department.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the artistic vision is achieved within the resource allocated to the production and that this is done safely, conscientiously with regard to the environment, and to a high standard. It is important that an open and trusting relationship is developed between the Costume Supervisor and their artistic team.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Highly creative, efficient and organised person with relevant Costume Supervisor experience at NT level.
- Financially adept.
- Strong understanding of IT systems and their importance within the creation of Costume for a show from production to running.
- Extensive knowledge of costume, fabric, textiles, retail and costume hire.
- Able to balance the necessary creativity or the role alongside the necessary functionality.
- Proven experience of team supervision and leadership.
- Able to listen, interpret and share information.
