We are looking for a Deputy Head of Sound for Dear England on a Fixed Term Contract.

The country that gave the world football has since delivered a painful pattern of loss. Why can’t England’s men win at their own game? The team has the worst track record for penalties in the world, and manager Gareth Southgate knows he needs to open his mind and face up to the years of hurt to take team and country back to the promised land.

Writer James Graham updates his epic examination of nation and game to reflect Gareth Southgate’s final chapter as England manager. Dear England will play the Olivier theatre from 10 March to 24 May 2025, followed by a four-week run at the Lowry in Salford.

Key show dates:

*         Start date during week commencing 19 May 2025 (exact date TBC)

*         Technical rehearsals from 27 May 2025 in Salford (Lowry)

*         First performance on 29 May 2025 in Salford (Lowry)

*         Opening performance on 1 June 2025 in Salford (Lowry)

*         Final performance on 29 June 2025 in Salford (Lowry)

All dates are subject to change and confirmation

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience of working in a similar role on a first-class large-scale play, or similar professional production
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to work well with actors and other theatre staff members
  • Experience of live sound mixing and a proven track record of dealing with complex radio mic shows
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with radio mic fitting, maintenance, and live troubleshooting

If that sounds like you, this may be the role for you!
