We are looking for a Duty Security Manager to join the National Theatre's Security team.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible on a day-to-day basis for all operational matters concerning the security of the National Theatre and to support the Head and Deputy Head of Security in delivering a comprehensive and efficient security service to the National Theatre.
The role of Duty Security Manager is provide operational oversite, leadership and management of the Contract Security officers, team leaders, Stage Door Security and Control Room on a day-to-day basis. They are also the Incident Control Manager for all incidents of a Security nature thus good incident management experience and expertise is essential.
The Duty Security Manager has a base position in the Security office near to Stage Door but a significant part of the role is to be highly visible and pro-active in managing the security function, supporting and supervising security staff but actively engaging with employees, patrons and visitors. As such the duties and responsibilities will requires the Duty Security Manager to be mobile throughout the building for large periods of the working day.
The successful candidates will have the following:
- To have considerable relevant Security and staff management experience demonstrating experience of working at an operational management level delivering a security service, ideally within a large high-profile visitor attraction or similar environment.
- Proven experience of managing Security teams and overseeing functions of a SCR (Security Control Room).
- Be fully conversant with emergency preparedness and response plans demonstrating experience of being an Incident Manager/Controller for Emergency incidents.
- Proven experience in the Security operational management around delivering of high profile events involving large numbers of people and managing VIP visits.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
