We are looking for a Resident Director (Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre)

 

Hadestown, the acclaimed Broadway musical phenomenon by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin made its long-awaited West End premiere in February 2024 at the Lyric Theatre. ‘An epic celebration of music, togetherness and hope’ (Forbes). Hadestown is the winner of 8 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Theatre Album.

 

Key show dates:

— Rehearsals will commence on 6 January 2025 in London

— Technical rehearsals will commence in the w/c 3 February 2025

— First performance on 11 February 2025

 

All dates are subject to change and confirmation.

Venue:  

Lyric Theatre

 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Professional experience in theatre directing, including working with understudies and leading understudy rehearsals

  • Professional experience of rehearsing new cast members into a West End production

  • Knowledge and experience of the working practices of a large-scale West End production

  • Proven ability to closely observe and note performers in rehearsal and performance environments

  • Experience creating and using understudy cover charts
