We are looking for a Senior Sound & Video Workshop Technician 3B (Video Specialism), to join our Sound & Video Department.

 

The Sound & Video Department exists to provide superlative technical and production services to Sound & Video Designers whilst working within the National Theatre. Through continual development we aim to continually push the boundaries of sound & video design and deliver exceptional audience experiences.

The Senior Sound & Video Technician – Video Specialism (BECTU Grade 3B) is a hands-on, operational role working directly on performances, based within the NT Sound & Video department.

You will play a key role in the production process undertaking roles such as video programmer, production video engineer and support technician; providing specialist technical services to a consistent and high standard.

 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience as a video technician within a theatre and/or other similar live performance environment.

  • Previous experience installing, programming, operating, and supporting complex video systems.

  • Experience of the programming and operation of media servers, signal distribution systems and playback software (Disguise, Notch, Qlab, Mediornet).

  • Experience working with projectors and displays from various manufacturers with the ability to specify and calculate lenses, luminosity, and unit noise.

  • Computer networking experience in critical performance environments.

  • Experience with CAD packages including Vectorworks & AutoCAD

  • Experience with ETC EOS programming.
