We are looking for an Automation No. 3 for Hadestown for a Part Time / Fixed Term Contract.
Hadestown, the acclaimed Broadway musical phenomenon by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin made its long-awaited West End premiered in February 2024 at the Lyric Theatre. ‘An epic celebration of music, togetherness and hope’ (Forbes). Hadestown is the winner of 8 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Theatre Album.
Hadestown is now in its second year in the West End after a cast change in February 2025.
The Automation No.3 will work collaboratively within the Automation department and alongside other technical teams to support the creative team and company to facilitate and manage the realisation of the technical elements of Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre.
Together with the rest of the company, the Automation No.3 will uphold a commitment to diversity and inclusion and will endeavour to create and maintain a working atmosphere, in rehearsal sessions and during performance, where all feel supported and empowered to deliver their best work.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience of working in a similar role on a medium or large-scale West End production or equivalent
- An interest in operating and maintaining automation equipment and a desire to expand on technical knowledge and skills
- Flexible and self-motivated approach with the ability to support colleagues and acting company and to form excellent working relationships
- To be able to work calmly under pressure and clearly demonstrate an empathy with the pressures of the backstage performance environment
- Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation including LOLER, risk assessment and working at height
