We are looking for a Deputy Head of Security to join the National Theatre Security Team.

The purpose of this role is to be responsible on a day to day basis for all matters concerning operational security at the National Theatre and to support the Head of Security in delivering a comprehensive and efficient security service to the National Theatre.

This will involve managing and working closely with the Duty Security Managers and our external Security provider in order to maintain compliance with industry and ‘best practice’ standards.

Working with the Head of Security, the Deputy Head of Security supports the development of the NT security policy and procedures and technical systems to drive forward strategic plans to modernise Security at the National Theatre and develop its ability to combat current and future threats. The post holder also works with external partners and stakeholders to provide expert and professional advice on all matters relating to Security.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • To have considerable relevant Security and staff management experience demonstrating experience of working at an operational management level delivering a security service, ideally within a large high-profile visitor attraction or similar environment.
  • Proven experience of effective contract management within the Security industry.
  • Demonstrate advance working knowledge of security systems, integrated security systems and Control Room operations.  Including CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and procedures to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, assets and data.
  • Proven experience of managing teams and overseeing functions of a Security Control Room.
  • Proven experience in the Security aspects of event planning and delivery of high profile events involving large numbers of people and VIP visits.
