We are looking for a Deputy Wardrobe Supervisor to join the National Theatre Wardrobe Team on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
The purpose of the role is to support the Wardrobe Supervisors in providing the high standard of care of costumes on all productions and to engage fully with the Wardrobe teams and wider Costume Department and beyond as required to fulfil the day to day running of the department. Also, to collaborate with and guide the Wardrobe Technicians/Dressing teams and ensure they are deployed effectively and are fully informed and supported in their duties. To take responsibility for the smooth running of performances and other projects requiring support. To Deputise for the Wardrobe Supervisor when necessary.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Extensive professional knowledge and understanding of all costume maintenance skills gained through theatre experience.
- Proven ability to work productively and supportively under instruction from the Wardrobe Supervisor
- Very Good hand and machine sewing skills.
- Proven planning, organisation and scheduling skills
- An awareness of Health and Safety procedures and their implications in the Running Wardrobe and Stage environment
