We are looking for a Music Logistics Assistant to join the National Theatre Music Team.

The Music Logistics Assistant is an essential role assisting the creation and use of music in its many diverse forms across all areas of the NT’s programming.

In this role you will be assisting in the physical delivery of the department’s operational activities, as well as becoming part of the go to in-house resource team for music technology and preparation.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Music Logistics Manager, Sound & Video, Production, Props, Lighting and Stage Management departments to facilitate the integration of music into the rehearsal and performance process across all NT productions, including workshops and events.

This post has responsibility for assisting in the delivery of the department’s operational resources and is a hands-on role, working with music practitioners, our instrument collection and technology including the organisation and coordination of the maintenance and development of NT’s music resources and storage spaces

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • A background in Music and or Music technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Practiced manual handling skills and the ability to set up and strike instruments, keyboards, their operating systems and all related equipment as appropriate whilst coordinating with related departments.
  • Proficient administrative, organisational and IT skills with the ability to learn and operate all departmental systems.
  • The ability to use initiative, to prioritise, multi-task and manage your own time to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work with an open mind to new or different ways of working to build strong and close relationships with a wide range of internal and external colleagues.
