We are recruiting for a Producer to join our Digital Media Department.

 

The Digital Media Department at the National Theatre produces and distributes content for a range of different channels across cinema, online, social, streaming and television.

 

The department includes the production and distribution National Theatre Live, an initiative launched in 2009 to broadcast the National’s productions to cinemas around the world. It also includes National Theatre at Home, an on-demand streaming platform launched in December 2020, with titles from the NT Live and Archive back catalogue, enabling audiences to watch theatre wherever, whenever.

 

The NT Collection is another programme of work from this department, which makes a curated selection of NT productions available to educational institutions across the world. The department also creates and produces digital content to support the full breadth of work of the NT and is responsible for archive capture of all NT productions. The department is responsible for generating revenue for the organisation and supporting it to reach the broadest audiences.

 

The Producer will report to the Senior Producer of Production & Content and be responsible for working with the creative and technical teams to ensure the smooth running and successful delivery of National Theatre Live and National Theatre at Home recordings, broadcasts and surrounding content. Working in collaboration with colleagues across the Digital Media department and wider organisation, this role will be responsible for bringing together all elements related to the successful capture of a range of productions at the National Theatre and other leading British Theatre Companies working across programming, scheduling, rights, producing and post-production.

 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • High level of creativity and the ability to plan, pitch, and execute engaging short-form content

  • An understanding of broadcast formats, delivery and workflow

  • Strong organisational and time management skills and be pro-active in taking ownership over own workload.

  • To establish and maintain relationships with external productions companies and freelancers

  • Proven experience of working strategically and having oversight of a range of projects and the tools to support their successful delivery.
