We are looking for a Props Office Assistant Buyer to join the National Theatre Workshops Team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will work to support the smooth running of the Props Department.  The post will require some thinking on your feet, reacting to last minute requests, lifting and collecting heavier props to & from the theatre, associated buildings, markets & the high street. This includes undertaking show based work as well as non-show work alongside Senior Props Supervisors, Props Supervisors, and Props Buyers.

 

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • Some backstage experience on a range of professional projects such as Prop Buying, Stage Management, or as a petty cash buyer
  • A passion and ability to research modern and period furniture, props and interior designs
  • An awareness of sustainability and the impact within theatre production
  • Confident with cash handling and inputting financial data
  • An understanding of the H&S restrictions placed on items that are put onto the stage
