Resident Director (Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre)
We are looking to recruit a Resident Director to join the West End production of Hadestown. The acclaimed Broadway musical phenomenon by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin makes its long-awaited West End premiere in February 2024 at the Lyric Theatre. ‘An epic celebration of music, togetherness and hope’ (Forbes). Hadestown is the winner of 8 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Theatre Album.
Key show dates:
- Rehearsals will commence on 11 December 2023 in London
- Technical rehearsals will commence in the w/c 29 January 2024
- First performance on 10 February 2024
- Press performance on 21 February 2024

The successful candidate will have the following:
Professional experience in theatre directing, including working with understudies and leading understudy rehearsals.
Knowledge and experience of the working practices of a large-scale West End production.
A sensitivity of approach and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective and supportive working relationships across the full range of individuals.
General computer literacy using MS Office packages or a willingness to undergo training as needed.
Participation and experience of workshop facilitation.
