Resident Director (Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre)

 

We are looking to recruit a Resident Director to join the West End production of Hadestown. The acclaimed Broadway musical phenomenon by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin makes its long-awaited West End premiere in February 2024 at the Lyric Theatre. ‘An epic celebration of music, togetherness and hope’ (Forbes). Hadestown is the winner of 8 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Theatre Album.

 

Key show dates:

  • Rehearsals will commence on 11 December 2023 in London
  • Technical rehearsals will commence in the w/c 29 January 2024
  • First performance on 10 February 2024
  • Press performance on 21 February 2024

All dates are subject to change and confirmation.

 

Venue:  

Lyric Theatre

 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Professional experience in theatre directing, including working with understudies and leading understudy rehearsals.

  • Knowledge and experience of the working practices of a large-scale West End production.

  • A sensitivity of approach and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective and supportive working relationships across the full range of individuals.

  • General computer literacy using MS Office packages or a willingness to undergo training as needed.

  • Participation and experience of workshop facilitation.
