We are looking for a Senior General Manager to join the National Theatre NTP team.
Purpose of the role:
The Senior General Manager will be accountable for NTP’s productions on tour, in the West End and Internationally where required. They will bring extensive management and decision-making experience in order to deliver NTP’s work to the highest standard. The Senior General Manager will lead the delivery of allocated productions, taking responsibility for running these on budget and to schedule. They will be supported by a Production Coordinator and/or Production Assistant. They will work with the Executive Producer, Managing Director and Head of General Management to deliver these productions to a high standard, liaising where necessary with their counterparts and other departments at the NT. The Senior General Manager will be the point of contact for creative teams, authors, co-producers, the company, venues and other stakeholders. They will lead the production process from start to finish, working closely with all departments to oversee budgets, schedules, negotiations, recruitment of production staff, processes (including accounts, payroll, royalties, marketing, technical), company welfare, press nights and travel/accommodation.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Significant general management experience including on large-scale productions
- The ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively as part of a team
- Experience in line management, looking after the performance, wellbeing and career development of team members
- A proven ability to work effectively with high-level stakeholders
- Proven experience in budgeting and spend management, including delivering to sales targets
- Experience in negotiating and drafting a wide variety of contracts
