We are looking for a Senior Stage Automation Technician to join the National Theatre Stages Team for a 15 month fixed term contract.

 

As a senior staff member, you will be expected to participate in, and supervise technicians, covering the full range of technical duties during fit-ups, rehearsals, performances, change overs and get-outs carried out by the department when required, providing duty cover and technical support as necessary and ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. This may include working in all three venues and other NT spaces as required.

 

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • Experience with entertainment automation control systems.
  • A practical working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation including LOLER, PUWER, risk assessment and working at height.
  • Experience as a Head of Stage/Automation or equivalent in a small producing theatre, a Deputy Head or equivalent in a larger theatre, or Supervisory duties within a touring environment.
  • An excellent working knowledge and experience of theatrical flying techniques.
  • Industry recognised certificates such as NRC, IOSHH ABTT awards.
