We are looking for a Senior Stage Automation Technician (Grade 3A) to join the National Theatre Stages Team.

 

The purpose of the role

 

As a senior staff member, you will be expected to participate in, and supervise technicians, the full range of technical duties during fit-ups, rehearsals, performances, change overs and get-outs carried out by the department when required, providing duty cover and technical support as necessary and ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. This may include working in all three venues and other NT spaces as required.

 

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • Solid stage operational experience in professional theatre; with experience as a Head of Stage/Automation or equivalent in a small producing or rep theatre, a Deputy Head or equivalent in a larger theatre, or Supervisory duties within a touring environment.

  • Industry recognised certificates such as NRC, IOSHH ABTT awards.

  • The ability to draw, read and interpret ground and stage plans using CAD and other software.

  • A practical working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation including LOLER, PUWER, risk assessment and working at height.

  • An excellent working knowledge and experience of theatrical flying techniques.
