We are looking for a Commercial Producing Accountant to join the National Theatre Finance Team.

The purpose of this role provides financial support for the transferring and touring productions of the National Theatre.

Working closely with senior commercial producing colleagues and Deputy Finance Director this role will provide quality financial reporting for our exciting programme of external theatre. The role will assist the commercial producing team in scoping and modelling possible transfers and tours. It will consolidate the various productions into the NT’s finance system and financial reporting and provide critical oversight of the finances of the external productions. This role will prepare board and exec reporting with the Deputy Finance Director.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • The post holder should be qualified with an IFAC professional accounting qualification or actively studying toward completion.
  • A thorough working knowledge of commercial productions accounts
  • A good working knowledge of the use of information technology in financial management and the ability to apply that experience to develop and improve the finance systems at the National Theatre
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in discussing and modelling financial scenarios with non-accountants
  • The ability to critically appraise financial systems, processes, and controls, and identify and implement changes to the processes and procedures to strengthen the control environment and increase efficiency of the team
