We are looking for an Executive Producer for National Theatre Productions.  

2025/26 is the start of an exciting new era at the National Theatre. It is an organisation with a significant platform from which to create change for audiences and in the world. The NTP Executive Producer will lead on, support and deliver an exciting future life for all main stage productions beyond the Southbank stages for the National Theatre.

The core role is to strategise and identify opportunities for NT productions to tour and transfer, both nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on New York and Broadway, in close consultation with the Executive Director and NTP’s Managing Director.

The NTP Executive Producer will lead on landing and Executive Producing productions so that NTP is a net contributor to the National Theatre both in financial and reputational terms.

Working with the NTP Managing Director and a small, passionate, expert supporting team, the NTP Executive Producer will source and manage external companies delivering the NT’s productions beyond the Southbank, whether in the West End, on tour, or internationally. Alternatively, where critical strategic productions merit, the NTP Executive producer working with the NTP Managing Director, will assemble a small dedicated production team to deliver the key production internally.

The NTP Executive Producer will have developed wider sector relationships to advocate for NT productions on a national and international level. Experience of working in New York, LA and San Francisco is of particular relevance.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrable senior leadership experience in commercial theatre in the West End, wider UK, Broadway, wider US.
  • Experience of highly successful negotiations and a slate of credible work
  • Experience of raising investment and managing investor relations
  • Experience of working with a Board of Directors.
  • Developed relationships with Commercial Producers and General Managers in the UK and the US
