We are looking for a Rigging Resources Technician to join our Stages Department.
The Stage Department is made up of three teams of technicians based in the three theatre spaces, and are led by the stage supervisors. Stage Technicians are responsible for handling all scenic and prop elements of productions whilst in the theatres, on the stages and in the repertoire.
Based within the Rigging Resources team, this role works to ensure that lifting equipment, accessories and related equipment comply with relevant legislation and standards. You will undertake the examination, testing and maintenance of equipment and work alongside other technicians on compliance-related activity, supervising when required; this will include working in all three venues and other NT spaces.
You will also be responsible for the storage and asset tracking of equipment, accurately recording its condition and location, and will work closely with other areas within the Stage and other technical teams to fulfil lifting equipment requests for theatre productions and other events across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Good technical operational experience in large-scale repertory or touring theatre, or within a lifting or equipment rental company.
A working knowledge of current health and safety legislation including the HSWA and LOLER.
A working knowledge of, and experience in, entertainment rigging.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise conflicting demands.
A proactive and flexible approach.
