We are looking for Visitor Engagement and Operations Assistant Managers to join the National Theatre Enterprises Team.

The Assistant Managers are at the heart of our theatre operation; regularly acting as the lead Front of House manager for the Olivier, Lyttleton or Dorfman theatres.

The Assistant Managers are responsible, in conjunction with the VE&O Managers, for providing a pro-active, visible presence and leadership within all FOH areas of the building and the external public realm, including Stage Door back of house. They will ensure health and safety, visitor experience, look and feel and employee engagement are all maintained to the highest standard throughout their shift. They will drive an excellent visitor experience for all guests and enable their team to deliver consistently high performance and achieve commercial targets.

The Assistant Managers will support the departmental focus on driving presentational standards, identifying new sales opportunities and ensuring proactive up-selling, seeking opportunities to deepen audience engagement with the NT via the promotion of all services and products and developing a strong supervisory, CSA and Stage Door team.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • A motivational and inspiring work ethic with the ability to lead by example
  • The ability to work under front line pressure whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times
  • Experience of managing a diverse, customer facing, operational team.
  • Financial awareness and experience of managing a team achieving sales targets
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience of managing emergency situations.
