We are looking for a Head of Design (Maternity Cover) to join the National Theatre Marketing Team on a 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract.
The purpose of the role
The Head of Design (Maternity Cover) will lead and inspire a team of Designers and Artworkers to create marketing campaigns across the National Theatre, supporting our stages and digital products. Working with the Director of Marketing & Sales, the individual will collaborate with the creative teams, NT Live, National Theatre at Home and National Theatre Productions (our tours and commercial transfers division) to execute impactful and engaging design campaigns with the objective of driving sales, loyalty, engagement and reach. This role is a brand guardian across the NT and responsible for design consistency across all platforms. The Head of Design (Maternity Cover) sits within the Audiences & Media directorate; beyond Marketing, this directorate also encompasses Box Office, Digital, Press and Communications.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Proven senior design and art direction expertise in the creative industries with a track record of success.
- An ability to work effectively at a senior level with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including artists or creative professionals of target audiences.
- Experience of leading and managing staff, with the ability to create an open and positive atmosphere in which people can give their best and where success is recognised.
- A high level of self-motivation and the ability to meet demanding targets within tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of developing and delivering engaging and original campaigns and activity for a variety of target audiences.
