We are looking for a Head of Procurement to join the National Theatre Procurement Team.
The National Theatre offers the widest access to high quality theatre to millions of audience members across the UK and around the world every year and this opportunity is an exciting moment for the National as sets up a Procurement function for the first time. This role will develop an industry-leading commercial function that will help to ensure that we can deliver great theatre into the future.
The Head of Procurement is accountable for the development and implementation of the new Procurement function. They will recruit the team, develop policy, process and procedures, identify and prioritise procurement activities, build strong relationships across the NT to ensure the new function is embedded and oversee all procurement activity from cradle to completion. They will be an inspirational ambassador for Procurement both within the NT, across the supplier base and externally with funders and sectoral peers. The Head of Procurement will drive the NT’s strategic objective of moving up the Procurement maturity model, to Proactive or Strategic by 2028/2029.

The successful candidate will have the following:
- MCIPS Qualified
- Extensive senior-level procurement experience gained in a variety of sectors and across multiple categories of spend
- Experience working in not-for-profit or the arts
- Experience establishing greenfield procurement functions, building the case for change, presenting this at senior levels and then designing and implementing the required change.
- Delivered and led on cross-organisational culture change programmes designed to drive buy-in for a new function
