We are looking for a Stage Technician (Grade 4) to join the National Theatre Stage Team.
Based within the stage department (specifically within the Olivier Theatre), with an expertise in stage craft, this role works to support theatre performances, technical rehearsals, fit ups, get outs and other events in all three venues, rehearsal rooms and other NT spaces as required. This will mean engaging in a wide range of stage responsibilities such as building of scenery, running show plots, loading of vehicles, handling of props etc. At times this position will be required to supervise casual staff and carry out duty technician responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Good operational stage experience in professional theatre; in a producing theatre, or touring environment.
- Industry-recognised certificates in rigging, stagecraft etc
- A practical working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
- A good working knowledge and experience of theatrical flying and rigging techniques
- Excellent stage craft skills and the ability to work at height
